Art in the Pass
is a two-day outdoor, fine arts festival held April 2 &
3, 2011, from 10 AM to 5PM in Pass Christian’s War
Memorial Park located at the corner of Scenic Dr. and Fleitas Ave.,
overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The Festival celebrates and
promotes fine arts in the community.
Applicants are juried to find a group of
talented artists in a variety of mediums including painting,
photography, print making, sculpture, pottery, fiber arts, glass
arts, woodworking and jewelry. Artists display and sell their work
to the public.
More than 80
artists from 7 states participated in the very successful 2010 AITP.
Over 7000+ people attended the biggest and best show ever.
The steering committee's long term goal is to establish a foundation
dedicated to funding art programs in the public schools on the Mississippi Gulf Coast
where these programs are currently unavailable.
Art in the Pass
is made possible through the hard work and dedication of community
volunteers and the donations of sponsors. |

In 2010 Nila Burmaster really lined up some wonderful local chefs to cook
on Saturday and Sunday. Included in the line-up was Skip Negrotto's
Award winning barbeque, Lucio's Restaurant's Mexican food, and
Otis Gates with the Pass Boys and Girls Club fish dinners. To
finish off your meal, the Pass Middle School provided
something for the sweet tooth. The Art
in the Pass committee sold soft drinks, Magnolia Beer
on draft and other domestic beers. You did not go away hungry
from this festival. |

"Who is
Bobby
Allison?" You
are not from the Coast
If Bobby Allison’s voice were a color it would
be brown----deep chestnut brown, with surprising flecks of gold. As
comfortable as an old pair of broken-in jeans, Bobby’s music is
relaxing and familiar. He knows what his audience wants an he knows
how to deliver.
Allison’s repertoire includes a variety of
musical styles. Bobby is equally comfortable finger-pickin’ a
special blend of sentimental favorites with his acoustic guitar as
he is kickin’ in his full blown band sound that he creates in his
studio with an array of modern audio equipment. Bobby surprises the
listener leaving them to wonder how one man can sound like so many!
Whether he’s pickin’ the blues or beltin’ out
some high powered rockin’ oldie, or softly crooning a 40’s Torch
Tune, he creates a musical journey giving the listener a true sense
of travel through timeless memories then brings them back to the
present with his easy “talking to you” style.
Bobby welcomes request from the stage which offers audiences endless
list of familiar tunes and fresh originals.
Bobby Allison enjoys performing his one-man
show in a variety of venues including concerts, casino lounges,
conventions, special organizations and an occasional private party.
As an Epic Recording Artist, Bobby has shared the stage with
numerous national acts qualifying his talents to any interested
parties.
Bobby enjoyed 13 years as
entertainer-in-residence at Casino Magic, Bay St.
Louis, before Hurricane Katrina, racking up an impressive following
from all over the country.
Whether
he is playing in front of thousands of pickin’ a few tunes for some
friends, Bobby Allison has a way of drawing you in with his music
with his warm personality and his ability to surprise the listener
with an endless list of memories.
